“I am always trying to use it in different ways…thin, thick, with collage or with sand and raw pigment. Paintings are typically on Canvas, but some are on paper and therefore under glass. Colour is enormously important, and I hope all my pieces resonate in some colourful way. I always have several pieces on the go at any one time. Paintings are finished when they say something beyond the obvious”.
Living near Penzance, Jill Eisele is a prolific and energetic land and seascape painter. Her work has been selected for many open exhibitions, including the RBA at the Mall Galleries in London and the Penwith Society in St. Ives. She teaches in the UK and USA. Teaching always has been an invaluable opportunity for her to share knowledge and techniques and to create with others.
Jill paints vibrant, textured works on canvas and paper, inspired by the dynamism and colours of the Cornish landscape around her. Her practice begins with drawing in the countryside, capturing fleeting moments where light and colour create atmosphere and expression.
