DANIEL FINCHER

My story starts with a rockpool from which all my creations are either born or envisioned, with the truest connection of place, self, and nature.

On a quiet beach in Marazion is a spot I visit most days, to sit and notice, to sketch, write, and find inspiring ideas to make in jewellery. And so one evening sat on the edge of the harbour wall I noticed the tide returning and the sea slowly edging to one waiting rockpool.

Before my eyes the sea joined up once more with the waters of the rockpool and became one once again. This was my moment of realisation that all I do is of this place, and I felt compelled to essentially bring my tools to the beach and make one off pieces so utterly connected, that they had to be made here, fusing all the elements together, the magic of nature and Mounts Bay and the essence of myself when creating.

Each piece I make is very special and intimate, I have taught myself over the past couple of years and I adore pushing boundaries and creating jewellery that makes people feel something emotional.
