Oliver Bull is a marine and landscape painter based in West Cornwall. Working predominantly in oils, he paints en plein air, and from a studio above the small fishing village of Mousehole. Oliver (b: West London, 1970) has been drawing & painting since childhood. Encouraged by artistic parents, he benefited enormously from exposure to work by their friends Ken Paine, Debra Manifold, Kimm Stevens, Terence Cuneo and Ken Howard. He studied at Wimbledon School of Art (1993), The Surrey Institute of Art & Design (1997); gained a BA (Hons) in Graphic Design, and went on to work for 6 years as a designer/concept visualiser. He worked on a whole range of accounts, including Coca-Cola, and the British Army recruitment campaigns.
A new Associate Member of STISA (2014), Oliver draws inspiration from the stunning coastal geography and unique quality of light found on the UK's South West Peninsula. A surfer for several decades; his paintings are an emotional response to the marine environment¬.
