Artist's CV

Born in 1934 and brought up in Sussex, I first took an interest in painting when I was 17 years old. However it was many years later after making a living through a variety of jobs that I had the opportunity to paint full time when I moved to Cornwall in 1988.
For some years I ran private painting holidays in England and Greece with my wife Nicola. I also opened my own gallery, Higgins Gallery where I sold Nicola’s and my watercolours.
My paintings continue to change, at one time I was somewhat obsessed with painting Godrevy lighthouse (over 200 works) and my love of the female form has also influenced many paintings. My latest work reflects my main source of current inspiration — Cornwall’s industrial, fishing and architectural heritage.
Living in St Ives I am a member of the St Ives Society of Artists and the St Ives Art Club.
